Halloween Party
Date & Time: Saturday, October 17, 10:00–11:30 a.m.
Location: Honorable Shirley Chisholm Library (formerly the Amherst Main Library at Audubon)
The Japanese Group of Buffalo recently held a Halloween party, our first in several years.
Seven children from four families joined us, along with eleven adults, including staff.
We began with a craft time, painting small pumpkins. The little ones handled their brushes with great skill and enjoyed coming up with their own designs.
Next came Trick or Treat. The children, all dressed in adorable costumes, paraded through the library, collecting plenty of candy from staff members hidden throughout the building. They were delighted with their haul.
Afterward, we returned to the room and the adults joined in for a game of bingo. Prizes were won one after another, and the grown-ups got caught up in the excitement too, with shouts of “Bingo!” ringing out around the room.
Next, although it was a little chilly, the weather was nice, so we all went outside to enjoy cupcakes and play on the playground equipment.
Finally, everyone headed home with the pumpkins they had painted, and both children and adults left with smiles on their faces.
