Summer Picnic
On Saturday, August 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., our Summer Picnic was held at Ellicott Creek Park. We were blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed a pleasant afternoon together.
As this was a potluck party, everyone brought an abundance of delicious homemade dishes, far more than we could possibly finish. People who do not often have a chance to see each other enjoyed catching up, and the delicious food provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to socialize and deepen their friendships.
At the “Free Stuff” table, books, greeting cards, houseplants, Pyrex flasks, and other items found new homes with people who needed them. It was a great way to reuse things and make the event a little more eco-friendly.
In the latter half of the picnic, everyone had a great time with watermelon smashing, and a few participants formed a circle and enjoyed Bon Odori.
